Art post Ni ( 2 )

'aight before we get to my past art stuff that really should of been posted, I don't know, a week ago /stupid stupid me!/ quick correction to the past post, or rather specification, I shall be posting the titles of art posts in Romaji and English numbers. hmm...I feel as if I should post them in roman numerals instead of English...oh well.

on to the art-ish things.

Firstly this photo is crappy because: 1) I don't really know how to use a digital camera 2) I used flash instead of natural lighting

The concept for this Piece was conceal and reveal. like how even if you remove the mask a person is wearing to conceal their face it won't necessarily reveal the emotions that they are hiding underneath. This was done in .5 graphite mechanical pencil (my favorite material) and Prisma color colored pencils (cant remember the colors exactly...purple, red, pink...something like that).
What I find well done in this piece is the realistic shading in the face, hair, and eye. more the face and eye than hair. overall I love this piece, very very very rare for that to happen, but with all pieces their are flaws. in this it was pointed out that the mask was/ still is too flat. can be easily fixed with some time and patience

This was a study of a geode (even if it looks like PAC-man or some deranged fish) done in white charcoal and sketch crayons (brown, black, and white). This was rushed in about 2-3 hours so it is not as good as a lot of my other works. I do like how the inside of the geode (top left) looks sort of like crystals, and I also like the "complete" form (bottom right). the giant white mass in the center was the other side of the geode though it still needs more detail and more time spent on it.
